VMware View Setup – Step by Step Guides – Module 3

This next step in the VMware View Lab Setup Guides shows you how to create an optimized Windows 7 Base Image for virtual desktops, and some important things not to forget.

The files for this module is one PDF and one .bat-file. Get the .bat-file from the VMware View Optimization Guide at Appendix B (Commands.bat), page 32.

Is the commands.txt no longer available?

    • Jonas Rosland says:

Apparently it got lost when we moved to WordPress.com. You can get the contents of the file from the PDF appendix though, just copy&paste. Hope you’ve enjoyed the tutorials so far!

    Hi Jonas,

I’m new to this VMWare etc. I need to setup my own lab at home to learn in the in’s and out’s of it all. I need to know what I need…

    1. Hardware
    2. What Software and OS’s
    3. How to set it all up

    Can you halp?

      Hi Tony,

I would recommend you search the web for VMware home lab setup guides, take an introductory VMware course (available all over the world), and start with a use case (set up a virtual infrastructure is a good one).

      Have fun!
